International Work
Lincolnshire YMCA in Romania
During 2005 we undertook our biggest international project. A team of 30 set out for a camp at Geoagiu in Romania to help with its refurbishment. We had electricians, plumbers, carpenters, landscapers and an army of people to labour and paint. We were successful in our fund raising and achieved our target of £25,000 in three months. The camp is now in a much better condition and with the improvements we made they are able to take more young people for holidays. This work will now allow the YMCA in Romania to develop its activities and income streams with the long term view of becoming self-sustaining.

A team from Lincolnshire return yearly to the camp to teach English to children there.
